Beyoncé's Performance

It all began when Beyoncé performed her Oscar-nominated song, Be Alive, which she penned along with songwriter Dixson. Venus and Serena Williams announced the performance, and then the camera cut to a group of women dressed in lime green walking down the streets of Compton, California, which is Williams' hometown.

In addition to the tennis ball-inspired outfits, the women also sported braided hairstyles that mirrored the sisters' iconic hairstyles, also featured in the film. Then we saw Beyoncé, who was also wearing a stunning lime green ensemble, next to her background dancers on a Compton tennis court.

She was accompanied by her daughter Blue Ivy Carter, who joined her mother in the powerful performance. She was also dressed in green, and she hit every single move of the synchronized choreography while her mom sang. Then, we saw Blue Ivy pose in front of her mom for one of the final shots of the performance.

Fans' Delight

Twitter lit up as soon as fans noticed that Blue Ivy was also performing perfectly. One Twitter user snapped a shot of the youngster and wrote: "Is that Blue Ivy Carter front and center?!!! Sis is employed!! #Oscars." Another wrote, "Beyoncé was amazing per usual, and Blue Ivy is growing up so much." A third wrote: "Blue Ivy in Beyoncé’s Oscar's 2022 performance. She's gorgeous like her mother #Oscars."

Not the First Time

This isn't the first time Beyoncé and Blue Ivy have collaborated. The young diva appeared in the video for Beyoncé's Ivy Park line in early December. She even modeled some Icy Park designs last February.

Many fans (including us) believe that Blue Ivy has proved that she can walk in her parents' footsteps with this performance. This might be the first of many performances of the young star, who will surely steal many hearts with time.

Beyoncé Was Spectacular…. As Usual

Though Blue Ivy stole some spotlight from her mom, Beyoncé was spectacular as usual. She dazzled on the stage and mesmerized everyone with her performance. It's the third time the star singer has performed at the ceremony. For those unaware, Beyoncé first took to the stage in 2005 when she sang various best-original-song nominees live, including "Learn to Be Lonely" from The Phantom of the Opera. You can revisit it here.

In 2007, Beyoncé performed another medley of songs. Her performance then took in a host of Dreamgirls tracks alongside her costars Jennifer Hudson, Anika Noni Rose, and Keith Robinson.
