Kindergarten Winner Rasa Delivers a Taste of Inclusion: Healthy Smoothies for All

At just five years old, Rasa of SLI The Sidney Ledson School has already embraced one of the most powerful truths in entrepreneurship: the best business ideas solve real problems for real people. This year’s Kindergarten Winner of the 2025 National Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge impressed both judges and audience alike with a heartfelt pitch centered on food inclusivity — all delivered with joy, empathy, and an impressively thoughtful product.

“My favourite part of working on the business idea was considering people with special dietary restrictions. I loved helping them enjoy food again, whether it was by making smoothies fun, experimenting with different flavours, or creating options that were both nutritious and visually appealing. It was rewarding to see people feel included and excited about what they’re eating.”Rasa, Kindergarten Winner

The Pitch: Healthy Smoothies, Inclusive Flavours

Rasa’s business idea — a line of healthy, dairy- and sugar-free smoothies — brought a fresh perspective to the competition. The idea was as creative as it was compassionate. Instead of simply marketing a product, Rasa focused on creating a food experience that welcomed everyone, especially those who often feel left out due to dietary restrictions.

Featuring flavors like Strawberry Lemonade and Mango Vanilla, the smoothies were designed to appeal to a wide range of tastes while staying mindful of allergies and intolerances. The attention to flavor, nutrition, and visual presentation showcased a level of empathy and detail beyond Rasa's years — a fact not lost on the judging panel.

Feedback from the Judges

Karen Lau, an experienced youth mentor, asked how Rasa would help customers choose a flavor. With poise and clarity, Rasa explained he would ask customers about their preferences, ensuring the product met individual tastes.

Christina Mattina, founder of Sugar & Spice Kids Spa and Party, praised Rasa's approach to product testing, asking whether the smoothies had been tried by others. Rasa confirmed that the drinks had been tested and well-received, a testament to his careful consideration of feedback and product development. Christina also highlighted the fresh-made nature of the smoothies as a key selling point.

Both judges noted the strong appeal of the product to families, particularly those dealing with food sensitivities, and commended Rasa for the thoughtfulness behind his concept.

Why Rasa Won

Rasa’s victory was not just about a good product — it was about inclusive thinking. The judges and audience recognized him for tackling a meaningful challenge: making food enjoyable and accessible to all. His solution was simple, yet significant — and his excitement about helping people feel included was both infectious and inspiring.

While the competition was full with smart ideas, it was Rasa’s empathy-driven entrepreneurship that stood out. As the youngest category winner, he reminded us that business at its best is about people — and that even the smallest entrepreneurs can make a big impact.

Winner’s Spotlight Takeaway

Rasa’s smoothie stand wasn’t just about healthy drinks — it was about serving others with heart. With creativity, compassion, and courage, he's not just building smoothies — he's building belonging.
