11 Remembrance Day Events in Toronto for 2021

Remembrance Day is celebrated to honor the veterans of Canada. If you want to participate in such events, read this helpful list of Remembrance Day events in Toronto for 2021.

1.       12,000 Canadian Flags

This event honors the members of the Canadian Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice. A display is available for viewing at Manulife’s global headquarters in Toronto from November 4 to 11, 2021. Read more here.

2.       Operation Raise a Flag

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre is hosting Operation Raise a Flag will help raise funds in support of the Veterans program at Sunnybrook. People can get flags online, too, and send donations. It will be held on November 11, 2021, at the grounds of Sunnybrook Veterans Centre, Toronto. Read more here.

3.       That Choir Remembers

It is a remembrance concert where you can expect an evening of reflection. It will be held on November 12 & 13, 2021, at 8 PM at St. Anne’s Anglican Church, 270 Gladstone Ave, Toronto. Read more here.

4.       Songs of Remembrance

Here you will be reminded of love and lives lost via the music of the folk revival and beyond. It will star Paul Mills, Joanne Does, Douglas Long, and Dan Rutledge and will be held online on Friday, November 12, 2021, from 7:30 PM onwards. Read more here.

5.       National Remembrance Day Ceremony

It will be held at the National War Memorial and will be held as per local health guidelines like social distancing and putting on masks. It will also be broadcast live on Facebook and TV. It will take place on November 11, 2021, from 10:45 AM onwards. Read more here.

6.       Remembrance Day Ceremonies at GTA Royal Canadian Legions

RCL Oakridge Branch 73: Ceremony is planned in front of Legion Branch 73 cenotaph. A light meal at the Clubroom will follow it. It will take place on Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Read more here.  

7.       Ajax Remembrance Ceremony

This Remembrance Day ceremony will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 10:30 AM onwards at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 322, 111 Hunt St, Ajax. Read more here.

8.       Canadian War Museum Remembrance Day Ceremony

Canadians can also attend the ceremony at The Canadian War Museum on November 11, at exactly 11 AM (EST). It will also be available online. Read more here.

9.       Queens Park Remembrance Day Ceremony

Outdoor service is planned in front of the legislative assembly in Toronto, and it follows provincial health and safety protocols. It will be held on Thursday, November 11, from 10:45 AM onwards. It will also be available online. Read more here.

10.   The Soldiers’ Tower Service of Remembrance

In this ceremony, the university community will remember those members who fell in the First and Second World Wars and during other clashes. It will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 10:30 AM onwards. It will also be available online. Read more here.

11.   City of Toronto Remembrance Day Ceremonies

Remembrance Day ceremonies will be held across the city. Anyone can attend and watch a Livestream of the City’s Remembrance Day ceremony on the City’s YouTube Channel and the website on Thursday, November 11, from 10:45 AM onwards. Read more here.
