The annual Cannes Film Festival , formerly known as the International Film Festival (Festival international du film), is a showcase for brand-new films from all over the world, including documentaries. The invitation-only event was established in 1946 and takes place yearly (often in May) in the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.
The much-anticipated 2023 Cannes Film Festival has begun, and it takes place from Tuesday, May 16, 2023 – Saturday, May 27, 2023.
