Recognized for a second consecutive year as a leader in service and trust in a hands-on industry
“Great things in business are never done by one person. They're done by a team of people.”
— Arslan Turganov
Few services play such a direct role in the personal milestones of everyday life as moving. It’s work that calls for efficiency and precision, but also care, respect, and trust—especially when people are navigating moments of transition.
That’s precisely what Arslan Turganov, Operational Manager at Stella Moving & Delivery | San Diego, has made the cornerstone of his company’s reputation. In 2024, Stella was named Best in Business for Moving & Delivery Services by BNS. This year, the honor returns to his team once again, as they receive back-to-back recognition for outstanding professionalism, leadership, and dedication to service across San Diego.
“This award is enormous and very vital for us—mainly for our team members,” says, Arslan. “I want them to feel and know that the best organization in the business field recognizes their hard work ethic and professionalism. It’s all about them. This is their award.”
His humility is part of a pattern: leadership that centers around team, values, and long-term thinking.
This feature takes a closer look at the approach behind that success—from Arslan’s deep investment in his team to the values that guide every decision. It’s also a look at how one company in a high-touch industry has earned lasting trust, one move at a time.
“Trust the Process”: A Vision That Stays the Course
Since the company’s last feature in 2024, Arslan shares that Stella’s vision hasn’t changed—and that’s intentional.
“Since last year, our vision has not changed. We have tremendous faith in our vision—TRUST THE PROCESS. In everything we do, we believe in changing the status quo of the moving process. We believe in THINKING DIFFERENTLY. We are hiring people who believe what we believe. We are a team passionate about making better moving services and letting this satisfaction of services speak for themselves. Remember, we are here to HELP and SERVE YOU!”
There is an almost mission-driven clarity to his language, and it's evident that this is more than a motto. The consistency of Stella’s values has helped the team build a dependable, human-focused moving service in a city as results-driven and diverse as San Diego.
Recognition and Milestones
Arslan points to a string of honors and awards over the last year that reflect the team’s ongoing work and growing reputation.
“For the last 2024 year, we were nominated for many awards:
- Best in Business – ‘Moving & Delivery Services in San Diego.’
- Worldwide Certified Business Review Inc. Best Business Award – ‘Best Moving Company in San Diego, CA.’
- San Diego Award Program – ‘San Diego Business Hall of Fame.’ Three years in a row.
- San Diego's Favourite, Union-Tribune Readers Poll 2024 – ‘Moving Company.’
- Forbes Home Award for ‘Best Moving Company for Small Moves.’”
For many business owners, a single year with that list of recognitions would mark a peak. For Arslan, it reads more like confirmation that staying the course—through team investment, customer responsiveness, and ethical practices—works.
Delivering More Than Just a Service
While awards validate the brand, customer trust is what fuels it. When asked how Stella earned such high levels of consumer confidence, Arslan points to both ethics and action.
“I provide 24/7 operator support and proactive responses to feedback, addressing concerns with offers of compensation or solutions, demonstrating accountability and a commitment to customer satisfaction.”
This hands-on approach has built loyalty, not just customer satisfaction. According to Arslan, it’s also how Stella earned an industry rating of 9.07/10.
But he doesn’t stop there. He credits the strength of his team—and the values they embody—as a core part of the company’s appeal.
Arslan often returns to a quote that reflects the foundation of his leadership style:
“Great things in business are never done by one person. They're done by a team of people,” he says, citing Steve Jobs.
That message has become a guiding principle at Stella Moving & Delivery | San Diego, shaping everything from how he hires to how he handles setbacks. It’s a philosophy built on shared purpose and mutual respect—and one that has earned lasting trust with customers and staff alike.
“Everything I do, I do for my team members, and everything they do, they do for our customers,” he explains. “By fostering a supportive work environment, we created a professional and respectful team that customers trust to handle their belongings with care and respect.”
This connection between staff and customers is part of what makes the Stella experience different.
“We often say to customers that we are MOVERS & FRIENDS,” Arslan shares. “We are here to help and serve.”
It's a reminder that in his business, care isn’t just about handling furniture—it’s about showing up for people with respect and empathy.
Arslan's people-first leadership model shows up in unexpected ways. When a truck broke down during a scheduled move—one of the most disruptive things that can happen in this business—Arslan and his team responded quickly.
“We promptly notified the customer within minutes of the breakdown, rescheduled the move for the next day (a Sunday), and covered the customer's hotel stay,” he recounts.
“On the rescheduled day, our team worked diligently into the night to complete the move in one day. This effort was praised for its professionalism and efficiency.”
Instead of frustration, the customer left with a positive impression—and a detailed review sharing how the situation was handled.
Community at the Center
Arslan’s belief in service goes beyond his customers—it includes giving back to the broader San Diego community. For him, this is personal.
“I came here as an immigrant in 2016. Every human being has their history of charity and goodwill. I found that through helping people,” he shares.
“That's why I actively support our local non-profit organizations, including early education schools, teachers, veterans, military personnel, first responders, and those in need.”
Stella’s community service efforts are broad and consistent. The company has provided free moving services for the Institute on Violence, Abuse, and Trauma, the Deni Jacobs Early Education Center, the Vietnamese American Youth Alliance of San Diego, and local religious institutions, among others. Stella Moving & Delivery also supports the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD)
“These actions are the fundamentals for me that demonstrate ethical leadership that extends beyond profit,” he says.
“This initiative, rooted in my vision of community support, enhances consumer trust and aligns with my daughter’s namesake as a ‘fighter for human rights.’”
Growth Through Referrals, Relationships, and Reading
While Stella’s digital presence has grown through a long-term partnership with MoverBoost, Arslan still points to something more old-fashioned—and more meaningful—as the key to audience growth.
“The best strategies were when our customers referred us to their neighbors, friends, and other family members,” he says. “Especially when we provide moving services to different communities in San Diego—they're all trying to help us spread the word about our services.”
That word-of-mouth effect is a reflection of trust earned—and shared.
Outside of business, Arslan has a personal passion that quietly mirrors his professional life: building a library of 1,000 books he has read.
“I can spend hours reading references about the book and decide whether to purchase it or not—my goal is to create a library of 1,000 books that I have personally read. For now, my collection has 467 books with different genres.”
The same methodical dedication he brings to leadership also shows up here: research, discernment, and long-term vision.
What’s Next for Stella?
Looking to the future, Arslan plans to continue improving Stella’s offerings by exploring international best practices.
“We’ll continue delivering high-quality moving services and innovating the industry by leveraging cutting-edge equipment and technologies. I want to introduce the Japanese philosophy of moving people and processes of relocation to the USA.”
It’s an ambition rooted in the same foundational values that earned Stella its back-to-back recognition: care, professionalism, and an eye toward continuous improvement.
Advice to Those Entering the Field
For aspiring service professionals and business owners, Arslan’s advice is honest and grounded.
“Being in the moving industry and striving to be the best in every possible way is challenging,” he says.
“The most challenging part has been finding RELIABLE PEOPLE FOR THE LONG TERM. It's not a prestigious job to be a mover. I have to think outside of the box.”
That’s where his formula comes in again:
“Everything I do, I do for my team members, and everything they do, they do for our customers.”
It’s a simple philosophy, but one that has helped shape a company many in San Diego now rely on without hesitation.
Service, Earned and Sustained
In the moving and delivery space, trust is earned not by flashy branding or clever ads—but by consistently showing up for people, treating their belongings like your own, and solving problems with integrity when things don’t go as planned.
Arslan Turganov leads with that mindset every day. And with Stella Moving & Delivery | San Diego now a two-time recipient of the BNS Best in Business Award, it’s clear that both customers and peers recognize the difference.
